Anne McCaw, B.A., Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge, is a Reiki Master, BodyMind Balancing practitioner, accredited facilitator of Buteyko Breathing Method, life coach and facilitator of workshops based on the philosophy of Louise L. Hay.
A desire to help others and a strong sense that nature provides prompts Anne to continuously explore and upskill. Inspired by the natural surroundings of the Burren – with its air of mystery, blessed trees and holy wells – as a wife and mother, she explored natural solutions and the root cause of medical conditions experienced by herself and her family and she was drawn to energy work.
She enjoys and benefits from practising Yoga, Tai Chi, Alexander Technique and Transcendental Meditation (TM), etc.
Anne is based in Ennistymon, Co. Clare.
Reiki - Usui Ryoho
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy".
Reiki is an ancient form of hands on healing, working on body, mind, emotions and spirit. It promotes balance, deep relaxation and supports self healing. It transmits a feeling of acceptance, of 'coming home'.
Common sensations experienced in a treatment are warmth, tingling, pins and needles, cold or electrical feelings. These sensations are the body's response to the energy.
Reiki is very effective in relieving stress.
The body is designed to heal itself. Every day stresses can challenge this. BodyMind Balancing helps restore communication at physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels and helps bring us into our own awareness.

"The 'noisy and heavy' breathing of an asthmatic had always been considered an outcome of the disease. Nobody could ever suspect that 'heavy breathing' was the cause of bronchial asthma, and increased volume of breathing could provoke the appearance of symptoms of the disease" - Professor Konstantin Buteyko (1923-2003).
Patrick McKeown is one of a few western experts accredited and authorised by the late Professor Konstantin Buteyko to teach this method. A former chronic asthmatic Patrick has transformed the lives of thousands of asthma sufferers using this innovative natural approach.
Having struggled with continuous chest infections Anne trained in the Buteyko Method under Patrick McKeown in 2018. The Buteyko Breathing Method involves breathing quietly in and out through the nose, with mouth closed and the tongue resting on the roof of the mouth.
Learning about the connection between mouth breathing and the development of a child's jaw and teeth and its negative effect on facial structure, Anne attended a Functional Dental practice where it was found that she was tongue-tied. For Anne, this discovery explained her seemingly slow response time and restriction of expression while simultaneously longing to express. A partial tongue-tie release and myofunctional therapy (training each facial muscle to function as they were meant to) enables her to breathe more efficiently.
Anne has gained huge respect for her body as she understands the challenges it has experienced in the past in order to function, as each muscle that was not working effectively had a domino effect on the others. She also has huge respect for herself as she realises the hoops she had to jump through to perform simple tasks such as chewing and swallowing as a result of the tongue tie and misalignment of her jaw.
Benefiting so much from Buteyko Breathing Anne loves to pass on this method to others. She teaches in one-to-one sessions and is also available to work with groups.
Keeping Life Simple
Anne is currently writing a book entitled 'Keeping Life Simple'. She is passionate about passing on basic invaluable information to others so that they can live their optimum life.
